Dad's Bday Dinner...

What happen when sleeping at 2am previous night and have no morning activities on the second day? Woke up at 2pm!!!! =DD It's been a habit since after graduate, or more like ever since young cause my parents dont usually wake me up early if there isnt anything special in the morning, like hiking or traveling..jealous? =p

So woke up...had brunch/lunch - leftover baked pasta and 'bak chang'. Well laze around and *skip skip skip* 6pm d @@ wokay....cooking time!!!

Today tried out mostly new recipe. Mom found a ricotta stuffed roast chicken for me to try out and I found choc mousse terine..which LOOKS nice..but end up....oh well...consider passed after so many failure in the past ><

Msp msp...cook cook cook...8am!!! Dinner time~

I......forgot about the asparagus and carrot for main course @@ Well i have only 2.5hours to prepare and cook everything..it wouldnt be suprise it slipped my mind right...Overall the dinner was pretty gret. Apart from dad keep commenting about my presdentation ==' It wasnt that bad k...serving dad is way harder than satisfying the king!!!

Our neighbour came over for dessert and chit chatting session. Coffee fills the room. Lastly..here comes the chocs~ Finally get to indulged n to after we bnoght em back from langkawi last apr. Cointreau filling choc and cognac flaky choc. The later was way better~ With the strong liqueur from cognac...It's just so heavenly delicious~

Before i end this post...here's another thing to share. I've been to 3 of Jusco Member's Day sales this 2 months - 30th Apr (Qbay), 21th May (1U) and 29th May (Bm) - and lesson leaned? Go there early in the morning at 10am rather than at 6pm before the war really starts!!! Hell yeah the prices are cut up to 70% while another 10% will be added on certain items during the happy hour, about 7pm onwards. Its really a great time to shop..apart from the crowd which you have to squeez through. And it is just certainly fun to see how ppl can spend!!!

Cart loaded with cream creackers, milos, and duno what else...are we having food shortage soon? =/

So prices were brought down pretty much only for this special day.

However some takes this opportunity to go to extreme lenghts to get what they want.

Monday's Post.

Monday. Was Still pretty tired and exhausted from Sunday, and yet still had to wake up pretty early to send Sam to the bus station for her to head back. Had only about 5 hours or 4 hours of sleep after a pretty long day. 

and yet, to be greeted with another long day. sigh~

Had fruit carving class, pretty much learning how to carve a fruit in the front of the house and not back of the house like all we DC's know how to do =p.

The techniques so carve were pretty much quite simple and not really very confusing or tough to do. Its just that the plating and the presenting is more important compared to actually carving really well.

Managed to learn some new stuff there, pretty interesting.

Just to recap the previous days,

Had dinner over at Jon's place on Sunday. Went for an interview prior to the dinner at Elcerdo, quite a nice place, and just had a small ice breaking session with one of the chef and they said they'll get back to me by this week. So I wonder if im accepted hmm...

Reached Jon's place at about 6, dilly dally until 7+ then only started cooking. Yes cooking our own meal.

The reason we were slightly late? Ini dua la hahaha..

So Sweet

Just had a few simple items on the menu, chicken, salad, calamari, mash potatoes, bnb pudding and of course ice cream ( this one commercial wan xD)

Jon was in charge of the main course, Sherryna desserts and Sam and myself were to do the appetizers.

So Jon's prepared the chicken below

Stuffed with an orange on the butt, and roasted with mirepoix veggies.

and I thought Jon was gonna come up with some damn awesome marination orseasoning or sauce or something but instead...

My hopes were shattered when he revealed his secret recipe

Aiyoooooooo, Straight away my heart fell down from my ribs.. literally Hahahah..kidding =p

Man, but it sure did taste good, so I recommend buying the brand shown above xD. Saves time also.

After finishing up everything, started to plate the salads for appetizers.

Butterhead lettuces, cherry tomatoes, balsamiq mushrooms, feta cheese, olives = A culinary nirvana recipe. Simply awesome, sadly no pic xD

Meal Time

Ended the meal with bread and butter pudding along with some almond ice cream. Splendid. Thanks Sherryna =p.

After a great meal, chor tai di for a little bit and lari home.

Thanks Jon for transport, the place and for the lovely meal.

Last but not least, 

Poor Java was in the kitchen the whole time but didnt have a chance to eat.

I guess he had to keep licking back his saliva during the whole period. XD

So weekly update to be done. Since someone is down here ive been lazy to update cause I wanna spend time with her only maaa hahaha. Starting off with

Monday

Had Soo Sian's marketing assestment, though open book, had to think for a bit to awnser the questions, but I scored relatively well with good remarks =D. Thought Id do somewhat bad, but the questions were really subjective so I awnsered them based on what I think on it.

Ms Uma, Managed to skip her dress code rules by wearing a T-Shirt, yey.

For this weeks pastry, all we did was tarts and more tarts. The class is like as though were just experimenting all on our own and the chef is just a statue there. She doesnt even teach us anything nor guide us in anyway regarding the recipes or methods etc etc. 

Carlos's Meringue turned into sugar webs instead.

Supposingly to be lemon Meringue tart, but we got lazy for the meringue.

After class, Randall's birthday, as usual the ritual of throwing him into the pond, along with the leftover meringue tarts and eggs =p. 

Rested a while, meet up with darling and headed home to prepare to go for Randall's birthday at Chillis. Had a great meal and lots of laughter with the group of the birthday boy, Cass, Hong, Carlos, Jyn, Nathan, Jerry, myself and darling.

Tuesday

Pretty much tired from the long day of work and fun. Was late for class =p but had nothing for english anyway. Boring class. Followed by marketing class again, (damn fast she mark paper) Just only did the assestment on Monday and in just hours she finish marking edi. Studied a lil for Pierre's Exam. 

I find his question papers pretty amusing. 

Sleep also cannot, damn sad.

Finish class, lari to MV and watch a movie with darling, titled "I love you, Man". 

I recommend it for all guys mostly and ladies too haha..pretty hilarious. 

Wednesday

Nothing much, thought class was at 11, went late abit then decided to not go to class..see see really no class aiyooooo. 

Go college for pool morning. What a way to start the day. 

Excercise!

French, pretty much crap all the way, 1 hour chat chat 1 hour learn. 

Finally watched Fast and Furious 4. Damn awesome. 

Thursday

Late again, morning class, ugh. Somebody la =p.

Skip skip skip ( class talk, especially lisa yong)

Went for the french week event thingy. Saw a few boring sketches, horrible singing and finally

BDH 31 video clips, and the crowd went wild *clap clap* ( all wake up edi, Ngap!)

Sadly the funny ones were not played though, too much porno and gheyness. Watched several clips that were chosen, congrats to Jon for winning 2nd place =D. 

Went to 1 U to catch Night in the Museum 2. Awesome stuff. Recommended. Sure LYAO wan hahha. Went to Italliannes for dinner, fillet mignon~ delicieux~

The grape "fruit" shake was nice too.

Walked around for abit, started to think why so many ppl in 1 U wan, reached Jusco and saw the war *J card Member day*. J card holders, im sure you know what I mean. Things were so cheap until  that I think Sherryna will abandon her kitties  just for the sales hahahah =D. 

Managed to grab a few shirts, ties and a new slacks, totalling to a sum of only RM150 cheap cheap wo0t!.  

Shopped until 12 midnight, q-ed for almost an hour for the redemption..bloody long line~.

Flew back home, studied french, sleep. 

Friday

Come in the morning only, greeted with a bloody tough french exam paper, c'est tres difficie!

Law, as usual, and lastly kitchen. Went in without research or planning, SLAM time~

In the end had pretty much time to do quite a number of stuff, and still had extra time. 

Stuffed chicken with rattatouile and blue cheese served with aglio olio pasta, oven dried tomato, glazed carrot and radish, zesty spinach, pumpkin coulis and supreme sauce. 

Damn alot right? HAHA =D.

Marks were pretty good, taste were pretty good as well, looking at this was my first time using blue cheese in my cooking. Hantam mission achieved~

Seen Cheow asked me if ive did this menu before because he did not believe that I was a first timer, and when I awnsered him it was totally hantam case, he was speechless.   O_O *copyright sherryna* (wahaha)

That sums it up I guess, last but not least,
